Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences Our senior Karate instructor is a specialist coach for both Kata (forms) and Kumite (fighting) for the English Karate Federation.

We also have two British & English qualified Assessors and Referees, one of them is an Assessor for the English and British Karate Federations (Tatami Manager) for Instructors, Referees and Judges.

Harold Stephenson

Harold has been training since 1962. He is a Professor of Martial arts and a fellow of the Institute For Martial Arts and Science (IMAS). He has had Multiple Sclerosis since 1980 and has had spinal reconstruction.

  • Grade 6th Dan Karate, 2nd Dan Judo and 2nd dan Aikido.
  • EKF AND BKF Tatami Manager (chief).
  • Specialist Coach  Referee & Judges Assessor.
  • Ekf instructor Assessor.
  • First Aid Qualified.

Ciaran has trained for over 40 years, and is a Fellow of the Institute For Martial Arts and Science (IMAS).  He is also a lecturer at Teesside university.

  • Grade 5th Dan Karate.
  • EKF AND BKF Referee.
  • Ekf instructor Assessor.
  • First Aid Qualified.
